
Dr. Marion Chambart
Lead, Water Security and Resilience, IFRC HQ
Dr. Marion Chambart serves as Water Security Lead at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). She is a member of the Swiss Humanitarian Aid/Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) Roster for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR).
A civil engineer with expertise in dams, hydropower, and water systems, Dr. Chambart previously led the UNICEF WASH Cluster Technical Cell in Ukraine, coordinating humanitarian support for conflict-affected water utilities. Her nearly two decades of experience includes managing major hydraulic construction projects like the Kariba Dam Rehabilitation in Zambia and the Rogun Dam in Tajikistan.
Dr. Chambart holds a PhD in Material Sciences and Civil Engineering, with research and teaching experience at EPFL in Lausanne and Ecole Normale Supérieure in France. When not securing water resources globally, she pursues her passions for climbing, skiing, sailing, and adventure travel.
