Founder, K’enso Consulting
Reshma Aziz Khan is a Kenyan of Indian origin who was born and grew up in Nairobi, which is also known as the Green City in the Sun for all the nature that surrounds it, including the world’s only wild national park that has lions too! Reshma grew up in a safari family that always had visitors from all over the world, and she learnt to also love nature. Reshma lost both her parents when very young, and at 25 years old she was an orphan, having to take care of her younger sister and head the house.
Reshma was lucky to do her Undergraduate degree in Calgary, Canada, where she met people from all over the world and was able to truly appreciate and understand cultural diversity. Over the past decade, Reshma has worked in development and humanitarian aid in many roles, including communications, leadership, strategy and culture. She also led global leadership and strategy workshops globally, and has facilitated conversations remotely, in Africa, North America, Asia and the Middle East.
More recently, she has been actively involved in inclusion work, to ensure that even large non-profits think and act on issues of race, diversity, gender equality, and other divisive factors. As a result of her work, she was elected as the President of the Staff Association at CARE International, to be a voice for local staff around the world.
In her personal life, Reshma is a dancer who likes to bring different cultures together, to really show what unity in diversity can look like.
Reshma transitioned from full-time employment in 2020 to set up her own leadership coaching and consultancy company K’enso Consulting, and collaborates with social impact leaders globally to work towards a more just world where it doesn’t matter what colour, religion or gender anyone is.
Reshma lives her low-waste life in Nairobi with her husband and three dogs – she makes all her own body products and grows much of her own food, in her commitment to doing better for the earth.
