
Shahida Suleiman
Coordinator, Somali Humanitarian Hub
Shahida Suleiman is a seasoned international development and humanitarian professional with over 13 years of experience across Kenya and Somalia. She has a proven track record in strategic partnership development, resource mobilization, and program management. Currently serving as the Somali Humanitarian Hub Coordinator, Shahida leads resource mobilization efforts, membership engagement, and program development strategies. Previously, she held key leadership positions, including Deputy Director - Head of Programs at Somali Save Women and Children, where she spearheaded program strategy planning, donor engagement, and institutional resource mobilization. Her extensive experience also includes roles at Islamic Relief Kenya, Al-Khair Foundation, and the Agency for Peace and Development, where she specialized in grant management, emergency response, and livelihoods programs.
Shahida holds a BSc in Biomedical Science from the International Islamic University Malaysia and has undergone specialized training in humanitarian leadership, crisis management, and cash transfer programming. She is actively involved in advisory and oversight roles, including chairing the Local Advisory Group for the Dutch Relief Alliance, and a member of the Change Fund Oversight Body with the NEAR Network.
